Where to even begin! We know the fashion industry is the world’s second largest pollutor, after the oil industry, and that probably doesn’t even take into account the massive amount of clothes thrown away each year. We also know many industry companies, big and small, wildly underpay their employees at best, and commit serious human rights violations at worst. We also know many communities and cultures of color are trendsetters in the fashion industry but are rarely owners or ceos, or let’s be honest, even recognized for their contributions. So, what is a little undie project like Aqua Underwear doing amid all this doom and gloom? Well, a lot and not much.
